THE TRYSTING TREE.

The name trysting tree means a tree that is an agreed meeting place. The present tree is the third trysting tree in that location.

Robin Hoods Trysting Tree is the tree refered to in Sir Walter Scots Book

IVANHOE

There were once two trees in the area claiming to be Sir Walter Scot's trysting tree, however from pieces of geography stated in the book and assuming that the old hall at Keeton Hall was the Building referred to as Torquilstone Castle in the book then the tree between TODWICK and KIVETON fits the location in the book.

The tree was within three arrow shots of the castle and the tree was in a sylvan amphitheatre.

THIS TREE IS NOT THE MAJOR OAK
